December Meeting 2024
Saturday the 14th was our annual AGM and Christmas Party. Where we recapped the year, had reports on finance and membership. We said goodbye to Theresa as Chairwoman of the committee, and to Kate, who has been a committee member for many years, they were both presented with gifts to thank them for their years of dedicated service.
With the changes a new committee was voted in and we welcomed Anne Wadey as our new Chair, she gave a vote of thanks and outlined some of her ideas for the future. Neither Theresa or Kate will be leaving the group, they will be still be very much involved, and have offered to help the committee and work on new projects where they can.
We then moved on to the important business of filling our faces, laughing like drains and enjoying each others company. Theresa, Vanessa and Anne had done a whirlwind shop and bake the week before the party to ensure there was food and drink for all. There certainly was enough to eat and Leslie’s chickens, I am sure, were happy with the leftovers. Once we were all full we got down to the highlight of our Christmas celebrations with "Sue's Annual Christmas Challenge" which this year was to bring/make something inspired by another Artist. Annie got the ball rolling, first with a thank you to all those members who have been helping with her charitable work and then unveiled her very apt knitted snow man inspired by Raymond Briggs. She then acted as scribe for Vanessa, who was taking photographs (if you find any mislabelled pictures on the Challenge page please let us know).
All in all, a great time was had by all.
