2024 Speaker Programme
This is a list of the dates and times that meetings will be held at Foulden Village Hall. Please note that members are requested to arrive at 1.30pm and the meeting will start promptly at 2pm. There will be time after the lecture for participants to get refreshments, sign up for workshops and visit the sales table. Sarah Wakefield - Leaves of Auchencraw (A journey from one world to another)

Sarah Wakefield, a New Zealander living in the Borders, has enjoyed fabrics, embroidery and textiles from a young age. Her journey into eco and botanical printing on fabric and paper has been good for health, well being and soul.

Carol Munro -

Carol is a well know appliqué quilt artist and teacher. She will be showing us some of her work and explaining her methods.

Gillian is a textile tutor, specialising in teaching City & Guilds courses in patchwork and quilting. To keep her own work fresh and expand her skills she has been studying for an MA in Contemporary Art and Archaeology. This presentation takes you on a journey through the course and her locality, describing how they influenced the quilts she has been making as she pieces together fragments of the past.

Ali Ferguson - Cloth Stories

Stories lie at the very heart of Ali Ferguson's textile practice, she is interested in the "why" more than the "how". She explains why mind maps are important to her, and tells the stories behind some of her favourite pieces featured in her book "Cloth Stories".
