December Meeting 2025

Saturday 13th was the Border Textile Group AGM and Christmas Lunch; 34 Members were able to attended. The changes to the constitution were passed. Rhona and Yvonne stepped down and were thanked for their hard work on the committee and the remaining committee members were voted back in. Special thanks given to Carol for her hard work behind the scenes. Liz Casey was welcomed to the committee. Liz will shadow Pepper as Treasurer. Pepper was thanked for her hard work amongst all her other commitments and for doing an extra year in the role. Ingeborg will officially take over the events programme in the Spring, after her return from Australia. Vanessa was thanked for organising the IT rota, website and facebook pages (someone still needed to take over IT rota). The IT and sales table teams were thanked for the hard work they put in during our meetings and the whole membership was thanked for making our group such a success.​ Sorry there is no photo of the spead we put on but Vanessa was so hungry she forgot to take one.

Anne kicked the Challenge off, theme of which was "Peace", with showing us her finished St. Aiden and two cross-stitched doves. Doves were a repeated theme of the challenge as were places where member find peace, mostly in the garden or at the beach. Another way members expressed their thoughts on peace was through the activities that brought them  peace, stitching being one of the main ones for Enid and June closely followed by knitting for Yvonne and gardening for Barbara. Despite her poor health this year Sue managed to produce another memorable item with a lovely story. Irene was keen to stress that the design on the "quillow" was at her grandson's request but the writing in Thai did contain the message of peace.
