January Meeting 2024

As usual our first meeting of the year was an all day affair when existing members pay their subs and we welcome new members/visitors thinking of joining the group. Almost everyone gets a chance to try something new, catch up on news and have a good old natter.

There were 3 mini workshops this year. Rhona and Yvonne showed us how to embroiders on wood, Kay taught us how to smock tartan fabric and Theresa showed us how origami boxes can be made using fabric not just paper.....and then there was the "naughty table" who have far too much fun when left to their own devices. A big thank you to our demonstrators and to the membership team of Anne and Pepper who processed the forms and payments smoothly.

Rhona and Yvonne demonstrated how wood can be embellished with threads to create interesting textures and a myriad of patterns.
Kay demonstrating the fine art of smocking tartan. It was certainly challenging!
There was also a table where members could work on their own projects. For some reason they called themselves "the naughty table", so one wonders what they discuss.
