February Meeting 2025

Saturday the 8th of February was almost a full house for the return of one of our favourite speakers Kate Slaughter of "Kate's Kloths". The main notices of the meeting were that Ingeborg has joined the committee and will be assisting Rhona with the 2026 Programme. Vanessa is going to continue with IT training next month but we do seem to have a core team forming to set up the projector and sound system.

Kate's talk was full of detailed information and demonstrations of techniques for creating back grounds for embriodery, landscapes, quilts and slow stitch projects. Kate showed us how transfer paints, Inktense, wax crayons, fibres and confetti can transform plain un-patterned cloth. Kate also showed us how materials can be layered, materials can be used to create texture and simple stitches can transform a design.

As well as our usual sales table. Kate brought along her pop up shop of hand dyed threads, fibres and embroidery kits.
